Kazakh State Owned Entities Ink MoUs with Qatar Entities on the Sidelines of 2023 Astana International Forum

Nurlan Zhakupov is the Chairman of JSC Samruk-Kazyna. Kazakhstan officials met with Qatari officials to discuss investments between the countries at the sidelines of the Astana International Forum in June 2023. The delegation, led by Qatar Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani, expressed a firm commitment to further development of cooperation between Qatar and Kazakhstan. The event was attended by over 50 business representatives from both countries.
At the conclusion of the business meeting, the parties signed five documents totaling US$ 500 million:
Memorandum of understanding on creation of joint investment funds between National Management Holding “Baiterek” JSC, China International Capital Corporation Limited (CICC), and Qatar-based Power International Holding in the field of dairy production
Memorandum of understanding and cooperation between National Company «KAZAKH INVEST» and Investment Promotion Agency of Qatar (IPA Qatar)
Memorandum of understanding and cooperation between National Company «KAZAKH INVEST» and «Qatari Businessmen Association»
Memorandum of understanding and cooperation between National Chamber of Entrepreneurs «Atameken» and «Qatari Businessmen Association»
Framework Agreement on Heads of Terms of the implementation of the project for construction of Medical Hub in Astana city between Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Doha-based Elegancia Healthcare (part of Estithmar Holding)
