Our Mission
The Sovereign Wealth Fund Institute is an impartial organization designed to study Sovereign Wealth Funds and their impact on Global Economics, Politics, Financial Markets, Trade, and Public Policy. We strive to be a leading educational resource regarding these funds.

Michael Maduell - President, Founder
Michael Maduell is President and Founder of the Sovereign Wealth Fund Institute.
Mr. Maduell currently works as a Consultant to the Investment Management and Banking Industry for a international services firm. Previously he worked for CalPERS, one of the largest public pension funds in the world. He has been featured in several finance and trade publications.
He holds a BSc in Finance & Risk Management from California State University, Sacramento.

Carl Linaburg - Vice President, Cofounder
Carl Linaburg is Vice President and Cofounder of the Sovereign Wealth Fund Institute.
Mr. Linaburg currently works in the asset management industry. Previously he worked for Merrill Lynch, where he conducted research for the Global Private Client division. Carl conducts research on state-owned investment funds worldwide and has been featured in a number of financial publications.
He holds a BSc in Finance from the University of South Florida, Tampa.

Conrad Metz - Research Fellow
Mr. Metz is the Managing Director for non-US clients for a large US-based institutional investment management firm.
He has been a guest lecturer and speaker on a number of panels focusing on international investing. He is an often-sought resource for foreign investors interested in learning more about investing in the United States and has been quoted in a variety of financial services publications, including: Barron's, The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal.
Conrad holds a B.A. from University of California (Berkeley) and a Master of Management from Ursuline College. He is a Charter Member of the International Society of Financial Analysts.
Member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Cleveland.
